Blawan Estate, East Java

A rich, medium-acidity coffee with a robust body and sweetness, with notes of vanilla, caramel, and black cherry.

The Kayumas Estate, meaning "Golden Wood," is found on Java, one of Indonesia’s main islands. Established by Dutch settlers in the 1700s, the estate sits in the northeastern part of Java’s Bondowoso province. Early coffee cultivation began in lower elevations, but an outbreak of coffee leaf rust in the 1800s wiped out much of the crop. As a result, production shifted to the highland plateaus, where the cooler climate and volcanic soil offered ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffee.
